Classification of flanges
Flanges are parts that connect pipes and are used to connect pipe ends. It can also be used as a flange at the inlet and outlet of the equipment to connect two equipment or between the equipment and the pipeline.
Classification of flanges
According to national standards, it is divided into: integral, threaded, butt welding, neck flat welding, neck socket welding, flange with flat welding flange with loose sleeve in butt welding ring and flange with loose sleeve in flat welding ring flanging ring plate loose sleeve in flange plate loose flange connection methods can be generally divided into five types, namely flat welding, butt welding, socket welding, loose sleeve and thread.
The first four types are described in detail below.
1. Flat welding: only the outer layer needs to be welded, and the inner layer does not need to be welded. Commonly used in low pressure pipeline, pipeline nominal pressure below 2.5 MPa. Flat welding flange, the sealing surface has three kinds, namely smooth surface, concave and convex surface and mortise and tenon joint surface. Among them, the smooth surface is the most widely used, and the price is affordable and cost-effective.
2. Welding is generally used for medium and high pressure pipelines: flanges, inner and outer layers. The nominal pressure of the pipeline is between 0.25-2.5 MPa. The welding flange connection sealing surface is concave and convex, the installation is complicated, the labor cost, the method installation, the auxiliary material cost is relatively high.
3. Socket welding: Generally used for pipes with nominal pressure less than or equal to 10.0 MPa and nominal diameter less than or equal to 40mm. Loosen: Generally used for pipelines with low pressure but corrosive media, so this flange has strong corrosion resistance and is mainly made of stainless steel. The joint is mainly used for the connection of cast iron pipes, rubber-lined pipes, non-ferrous metal pipes and flange valves. Flanges are also used to connect process equipment and flanges.
The role of flange
The function is the connection part between the pipes and is used for the connection between the pipe ends; it can also be used as a flange for the connection between two devices, such as reducer flange flange connection or flange joint refers to the connection with the flange, Gasket and bolt as a set of combined sealing structure detachable connection. Flange refers to the flange used in the pipeline equipment, and the flange used in the equipment refers to the import and export of the equipment. Flanges are divided into threaded connection (threaded connection) flanges, welding flanges and clamping flanges are used in pairs. Low-pressure pipelines can be flanged and threaded, and flange welding can be used for pressures above 4kg. Add a washer between the two flange plates and bolt them.
The flange thickness under different pressures is different, and the bolts used are also different. When the water pump and the valve are connected with the pipeline, the part of the equipment is also made into the corresponding flange shape, also known as the flange connection. All around the two plane bolted closed connections are generally called "flange", such as ventilation pipe connection, this kind of parts can be called "flange".
